Nature First — Our Philosophy
PixFineArt is a member of the Nature First community. We discovered these principles and they changed the way we photograph.
PixFineArt is part of the Nature First community — a global movement of photographers committed to responsible, low-impact nature photography.
What is Nature First?
Nature First is an organization founded by photographers, for photographers. Its principles were developed to educate and guide both professionals and amateurs in sustainable photography practices — practices that help preserve the natural places we all want to continue visiting and photographing.
The 7 Nature First Principles
1. Prioritize the well-being of nature over photography. 2. Educate yourself about the environments you photograph. 3. Reflect before entering sensitive natural spaces. 4. Keep your impact low — use existing trails whenever possible. 5. Use low-impact techniques. 6. Use, share and/or sell your images responsibly. 7. Learn and follow local laws and regulations.
Why it matters to us
We believe nature photography has the power to inspire people to protect the natural world. But that power only exists if we practice what we preach. There is no value in creating extraordinary images of places we damage in the process.
When we visit Iceland, Portugal or any other destination, we carry that responsibility with us. The best photograph is one that leaves the place exactly as it was found — or better.
